Penn State Schuylkill to host TJWK

On October 16, 2014, please join Penn State alumni, friends, and supporters for “The Joe We Know” being held at the John E. Morgan Auditorium on the campus of Penn State Schuylkill.

Although film tickets are FREE, every attendee MUST have an event ticket to enter the theater (Click on the “Register for Tickets” button for Penn State Schuylkill to the right). Thank you! A voluntary donation of $10 per person will be collected at the door to help defray event costs. Any excess funds collected will be donated in Joseph V. Paterno’s name to the Penn State Schuylkill THON and Penn State Schuylkill Student Award Fund.

This special event is brought to you courtesy of The Penn State Schuylkill Alumni Society, The Schuylkill Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association, the Office of Student Affairs at Penn State Schuylkill, and the Lettermen who are the movie’s producers. We are grateful to the Paterno Family for their generosity in sharing not only this film with us, but Joe for sixty-one years. It is a debt we can never repay.

6:00 p.m. – Doors open, check-in begins

7:00 p.m. – Film introduced by former Nittany Lion Gino Capone ’03

8:00 p.m. – Q&A session hosted by Executive Producers Tom Donchez ’74 and Dan Leri ’79

9:00 – 9:30 p.m. – Ice cream will be served following the event in the lobby of the John E. Morgan Auditorium

9:30 p.m. – Event concludes

The Morning Call reminds us that tomorrow, April 19, is the TV debut of the film, “The Joe We Know.” From the article:

‘The Joe We Know,’ a documentary film about former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno, will make its television debut Thursday night on five PBS stations across Pennsylvania. Locally, WLVT PBS39 will broadcast the film at 9 p.m.

Baltimore Screening of The Joe We Know

We’re thrilled to pass on information about a screening of “The Joe We Know” coming up in Baltimore.

The Baltimore Chapter of the PSUAA is having a screening Thursday, May 3rd at 7:00pm at the Landmark Theatre in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. From the Baltimore Chapter’s Website:

Prior to the showing of the film, Steve Smear, a former Penn State player, will do an introduction. After the showing a producer of the film will hold a question-and-answer session.

Attendees will include former PSU football players Steve Smear and Joe Carlozo.

“The Joe We Know,” to air April 19th

We’re pleased to announce the film, “The Joe We Know,” will air April 19th, on the following PBS stations:

WPSU/State College – 4/19 @ 9pm
WQLN/Erie – 4/19 @ 10pm
WITF/Harrisburg – 4/19 @ 9pm
WVIA/Scranton – 4/19 @ 9pm
WLVT/Bethlehem/Philadelphia – 4/19 @ 9pm

Both WQED/Pittsburgh and WHYY/Philadelphia indicated that they would air the program at a later date that is TBA.   Most of the Philadelphia area will be able to watch it on 19th via WLVT/Bethlehem which is on Dish, Direct, and Comcast.  Stay tuned for updates – or consider filling out our contact form and getting on the mailing list so you don’t miss any news!
