Brian Hand ’80 to introduce Hilton Head event

The Joe We Know,” a feature documentary film about legendary Penn State Football Coach Joe Paterno, will be presented on Sat., April 2 at 11:30 am at the Country Club of Hilton Head. This event coincides with the Low Country Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association’s annual luncheon. Local lettermen Brian Hand ‘80 will introduce the film and Tom Donchez ’74 will lead the post-film discussion.

Although film tickets are free, the luncheon costs $20 per person. Additional donations will be accepted to help defray costs. Any monies collected above costs will be donated in Paterno’s name to a local charity in his honor. The screening will be followed by a producer’s talk and audience question and answer period. Doors open at 11:30 am. To reserve tickets, click on the “Register Now” button to the right.

The luncheon includes a choice of entrée, artisan salad, seasonal vegetable, chef’s choice of starch, assorted mini-desserts, freshly brewed coffee, iced tea, and water service. Once registered, guests will receive an email asking them to select their choice of entrée (pork tenderloin, marinated grouper, or cabbage roll).

The Hilton Head event is presented by the Low Country Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association and the Lettermen who are the movie’s producers. The groups are focused on promoting the values espoused by Coach Paterno, educating the public about Paterno’s persistent integrity, and securing a fair legacy for the coach.
